This is really a life or death moment for America. Do we let the Tea Party terrorists win and take down America as we know it, or do we fight back and take back our country from what is easily the most dangerous threat to our republic in a generation?
Well America, this is it. This is the moment of truth. This is what this site has been warning the world about for well over year now. This is what so many pundits from Olbermann to Krugman, to Maddow have tried to tell us would happen. And to be honest, this is exactly what those who want to take America down said would happen. I mean really, they never hid their intent.Yep, the Tea Partying of America has started, and the country now stands at a defining moment where it will be determined whether the rich and powerful forces behind the Tea Party and the millions of people they have lied to and deceived will succeed in destroying our democracy.
The battle lines have been drawn in Wisconsin where the newly elected Tea Party supported governor has manufactured a budget crisis by giving millions in tax breaks and benefits to corporations. He now wants to fix the problem on the backs of the public employees in the state.
Governor Walker’s attempt to further diminish the middle class is just the latest in the insidious and Republican orchestrated campaign to turn America into a financial haven for the wealthiest among us under the guise of fiscal responsibility championed by the so-called Tea Party Movement. A campaign that has been choreographed by extremely powerful and extremely wealthy special interests, most of them from Corporate America and Wall St., such as FreedomWorks, Americans for Prosperity, and the fabulously wealthy and stunningly immoral Koch Brothers of Koch Industries, the second largest privately held company in the United States.
And this is happening in broad daylight, because the powerbrokers behind the Tea Party, and the candidates they’ve propped up have been upfront about their plans, and have been ever since the 2008 Presidential election when they realized that their benefactor for eight years, the Bush Administration, had royally screwed the pooch and now they had to face an administration that would rein in their unfettered power and out of control exploitation for profits. With so much at stake, they designed and executed a brilliant plan that started with rallying the average American to do the bidding of the rich and powerful by essentially lying about all of the hot button economic and social issues that would play to people’s fears;
- Out of control government spending, which was just hunky dory under Bush, now suddenly dooming our children and grandchildren to a destitute future under the Obama Administration
- Scores of gays getting married, parading through the streets and corrupting the morals of our youth
- Socialists taking over our businesses and destroying the free enterprise system
- Immigrants scurrying over our borders en masse to steal our plum lawn care and fast food restaurant jobs, as well as our freedoms
- Abortionists pulling pregnant women off the street and forcing them to give up the unborn
- Government bureaucrats convening death panels that would ship off our pleading grandparents to undisclosed death camps.
And on top of manipulating the power of the angry masses with lies and deceit, the forces behind the movement doubled down to insure nothing was left to chance by getting a law passed (with the help of a Supreme Court that has one of its key members wed to the Tea Party) that allows them to funnel unlimited corporate and special interest money, with no strings attached, into the elections so that victory would be assured.As we saw this past November, the strategy worked beautifully, as Americans around the country voted in a class of Tea Party candidates at the local, state and Federal level, many with little or no experience holding elected office. Maybe most Americans didn’t believe the Tea Party and their extremist views and threats of doing whatever it took to get their way. Perhaps they thought that Tea Party candidates and leaders like Sarah Palin, Sharon Angle, and Michelle Bachmann were just being extreme in the heat of a campaign when they talked about taking up arms, putting people in crosshairs, and promoting violence in pursuit of their beliefs. And apparently, voters either didn’t listen, or didn’t want to believe the many Tea Party candidates who made it clear they wanted to take out unions, make it easier for corporations to screw the consumers they are supposed to serve, help the rich get richer, and take America back to a time when people of color or alternative lifestyles were reduced to second-class citizens.
Well, as we first saw in Tuscon, and as we’re seeing in Wisconsin, there are consequences to the choices voters made. And more and more, there is a growing sense of buyer’s remorse. As expected, Walker and his supporters are trying to defend their efforts to systematically destroy the public workforce in Wisconsin, but the only way to defend the indefensible is with hypocritical and dishonest rhetoric, such as…
- Governor Walker saying ‘We’re Not Gonna Allow’ Protestors To ‘Drown Out’ The Taxpayers.” But hey, it was just fine when Tea Party protesters disrupted town hall meetings, or spit on legislators during the healthcare debate, and effectively drowned out taxpayers trying to engage with their elected officials or have their representatives govern, wasn’t it Mr. Walker?
- Sara Palin calling on Wisconsin union members to “sacrifice and carry our share of the burden.” Hey Sarah, have the top 2% wealthiest Americans made a sacrifice, or did you, your party and your Tea Party supporters successfully insure that the massive tax breaks given them under Bush were extended another two years?
