Be Progressive

To beat the corporate interests trying to buy our democracy, we can't just focus on Washington.
As I've traveled the country, I've found incredible energy from people to stop the effects of corrupt money in their democracy -- yet some of the most innovative fights right now are all being waged on the state level.
Each fight is small enough that grassroots progressives can have a big impact, but each fight is also big enough that when you put them together, you can start to turn the tide.
So on behalf of national progressives everywhere, I've asked Progressives United to engage in important fights for democracy that you might not know about yet -- in places like Connecticut, Montana, California, New York, and elsewhere.
And now we're scaling up our efforts. We need 250 progressives to step up and power these fights now so progressives nationwide can start undoing Citizens United one state at a time.
Contribute $5 today and be one of those 250 progressives to help us take the battle against corporate influence to the state level.
There's tremendous energy to combat Citizens United in state legislatures, governors' mansions, and offices of state attorneys general. And as Washington continues to stall on real reform, Progressives United has been there to fight big money where it lives.
Montana has taken its century-old ban on corporate cash in state elections all the way to the Supreme Court, and as a result, the Court met behind closed doors this week to respond to the biggest challenge they've ever seen to their disastrous Citizens United decision.
In California, the state legislature is considering a bill that would end secret money in their state elections, and we've helped organize local progressives to push for its passage.
In New York, we have a chance to enact landmark public financing laws, and we helped direct calls from progressives toward the governor's office to make that important measure a priority.
And there are more states where we're active, too. We're just getting started.
Contribute $5 today and help finance the next grassroots victory over corporate influence in the states.
The next progressive victory over corporate influence is most likely going to come from activism on the state level. We don't know where it will be yet, but we do know that it will be a crucial building block in our nationwide strategy to stop corporate influence.
Thank you for uniting as a progressive,

Russ Feingold
