Dear Stuart,

America's Arctic is one of the last great wilderness areas on earth -- places like the Polar Bear Seas are home to polar bears, ice seals, beluga whales, and more. For years, we've been working to protect this amazing wild place from dangerous oil drilling, and this year we finally have that chance.

This is the year that President Obama can stand up and protect America's Arctic for future generations. But he needs to hear from you -- sign our petition to permanently protect America's Arctic from oil drilling.

The Chukchi and Beaufort Seas, deep in the Arctic Circle in Alaska, are known as the Polar Bear Seas because 20% of the world's polar bears live there. Already an endangered species, this is one of the last places in the world that polar bears can survive and thrive. Losing this habitat because of an oil spill would be catastrophic for the world's polar bear population.

Other animals need the Polar Bear Seas too. Ice seals, beluga whales and walrus call these seas home. Birds from six continents migrate to the Arctic's coast every summer. These species are already struggling with the effects of global warming -- they don't need a disastrous oil spill on top of that.

From the Polar Bear Seas to the tundra of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, America's Arctic is under increasing threat from oil drilling and the effects of climate change. Tell President Obama -- now is the time to protect this amazing wilderness and the wildlife that depend on it.

Thanks for all you do to protect the environment.

Sincerely,
Sarah Hodgdon Signature
